A Lesson in Discipline: Eliminating Casualness
Transparency is part of our culture. Today, I realized that I faced a moment of hesitation with a piece of debris that was exceptionally difficult to reach. It reminded me that in both life and manufacturing, “being casual” is the enemy of excellence.
We shared this lesson with our entire team today: Never settle for “good enough.”
If a technician is “casual” about a single polishing spot, it results in a rejected product for the client. If management is “casual” about a logistical detail, it results in a delay. By refusing to be casual with street litter, we reinforce the discipline needed to be rigorous with our steel products.
